As you may be aware, I like to craft on the bus to and from my workplace in the CBD. I am known to pull out the crochet hook, paper piece hexagons and hand applique. It is very relaxing, and passes the daily commute.
This morning was no different, except that I decided to turn some Maisie heads inside out. I have 24 new Maisie dolls on the go at the moment
To get a Maisie head from this:

to this:

Is not a simple task. Do you see how small the neck is? You have to pass two wool felt layers, the hair detail and the face fabric through the neck.
So, back to the bus...I was sitting there quite contently. Listening to ABC Classic FM through my MP3 player. The Swoon of the day was on - Chopin 2 Nocturnes, Op 62: No 1 in B, to be precise. I was in another world, contently turning these tricky heads inside out - much to the amusement of the international (South American) student sitting next to me.
I was pulling on the plait to come through the neck, it was getting a bit tough. Edging the head through, bit by bit. All of a sudden I pulled too tightly or quickly and Maisie's head flicked out of my hands over my head and landed two metres behind me by the back door of the bus.
I quietly got up, picked up poor Maisie, returned to my seat and resumed what I was doing. Only about twenty people witnessed the event.

Crunch was loads of fun today. So much to share and so many tales to tell, including my bus story.

Danielle and I shared with the group our joy and simplicity of creating Yo-Yos with a Clover Yo-Yo maker. We both coincidentally bought them on the past weekend.

Kirsten started a new crocheted cheeky monkey. Kirsten's beautiful handmade toys will soon be available in her Etsy store. More details to come...later.

Chloe continued working on her 'pom pom fluffet'. I hope that is how you spell it, Chloe. Isn't this just the biggest pom pom that you have seen??? More on the pom pom fluffet in a later post.

Jenepher worked on her knitted cushion cover for the Crunch Club Cushion Cover Challenge. Jenepher has even knitted the words 'Falcon's Nest' into her design. So clever. The Falcon's Nest is the name of the spot where we meet for Crunch Club every Thursday.

Al was crocheting this fantastic scarf. It is for a Doctor friend in Brisbane. Given that Brisbane isn't too cool in the winter, holes were decided to be incorporated in the design, so that it wasn't too warm to wear. Al says that it gives that look of molecular cells under a microscope. Too funny!
Next week...the big reveal of the Crunch Club Cushion Cover Challenge.
I can't wait.
Just need to make something for it, then I can cross it off my list of things to do.
