Mini Moopy meets Maisie

I have put the finishing touches on some little softies for the BrisStyle - Toy Society mega toy drop.

I made these Mini Moopys from the pattern by the very talented Carly Schwerdt of Nest Studio. Carly is very well known within the softie world as an author and regular contributor to many softie books. This sweet  softie bunny is 'royalty' among softie blog land. You can purchase the pattern to make your own Mini Moopy here.

 
I hope that these Moopys find nice homes.

Watch out Brisbane, I will be dropping toys this weekend : )

 

Busy bee

Has Maisie been a busy bee lately?

Yes, I have been helping my lil sister get ready for her wedding on Saturday 4 December. This happens to be the same day as the BrisStyle Indie Designer Markets, Saint Augustine's Church, Racecourse Road, Hamilton. The Maisies and I will not be attending the markets. We will instead be attending the wedding of the year.

 

Looks like the Maisies know what they are wearing to the wedding. They have chosen their sweet little busy bee print dresses.

 

I love a wedding!

Sophie finds a new home

Sophie went home with Holly at the recent BrisStyle Indie Designers Market. Isn't Holly gorgeous!

What is Maisie up to these days?

Well, not one Maisie Doll has been made in the past four weeks. Lil Harry Monster is now nearly eight weeks old and taking up quite a bit of my time. Should I mention here that he has been sleeping through the night (11pm - 7am) for some time now. He is such a lovely lil boy.

I will be at the BrisStyle Indie Designers Market this Saturday with all my Maisie Dolls and Toys for Boys. Lil Harry won't be there - he is just too small for big outings yet with Mum. He will be at home being cared for by Nanny and Aunty Glennie.

Little itty bitty bibs

With the impending birth any day now, I thought that I should finish the little itty bitty bibs which I started a couple of weeks back...

Gorgeous Minny Muu fabric used in the bibs above and below. The best selection of Minny Muu that I can find at the moment is at Superbuzzy or in-store at Peppermint Stitches.

I have made eleven bibs in total using my stash of Minny Muu fabric, some old Amy Butler and some old Japanese and Aunt Grace prints. The bibs are backed in cotton flannel. I am still on the hunt for organic fleece and organic terry cloth. The bibs are secured with sewn velcro dots.

Will I be selling bibs at the upcoming BrisStyle Mother and Child Market on Saturday 8 May 2010? I say 'stick to your knitting' Maisie. I am sure that there will be lots of bibs for sale by the super talented girls of BrisStyle.

The sweetest cup cake toppers. Above are baby prams, baby onesies and baby bottles. Just perfect for a certain baby shower just around the corner.

Not to forget that the cupcakes were absolutely yummy.

A little holiday

Just a short blogging break...I promise. Just popping off on my annual Summer holiday with my family for a well earned break. Lots of developments for Miss Maisie and friends this year.

In the meantime, my Etsy store will be in vacation mode too. 

The weather has been a bit gloomy over Brissie the last week, so I haven't had a chance to photograph new dolls for my SALE in my Etsy store. I promise, that this will be done on my return.

What do you think of my new toys for boys? They are stylised softie bears of soughts. Made out of soft corduroy, cute japanese fabric for the ears, stuffed with polyfill and a bit of hand embroidery on felt for the face details. I need to think of a name for these chaps. They will make their debut at the upcoming BrisStyle markets in March 2010.

Christmas BIDM 2009 wrap up

I was so busy at the recent BrisStyle Indie Designer Markets that I didn't get a chance to take any personal photographs...very bad blogger indeed.

Saint Augustine's Church on Racecourse Road, Hamilton, Brisbane was the perfect setting for our markets. Brisbane turned on the traditional Christmas weather - hot and only getting hotter!

 
Made by Maisie had prime position under a big big tree. Luckily a constant breeze swept through to keep us cool. 

 
Lots of Maisies went to new homes. Some Maisies have made their way to my Etsy store.

 
Maisie's baby softs and pincushions are always popular with the buyers...

Christine from Little Diva Crafts...gorgeous children's clothing, softies and more. Watch out for Christine's new online venture soon. Am I allowed to mention the name Shinzi Katoh??? Drool...

Sharlene from Sharlzndollz kept the crowds in amazement with her paper dolls.

 
I managed to have a quick look around at the other stalls while my lil sis Ju Ju tended my stall. I don't know what she said to the customers but, when I came back, she had sold many of my Maisies to new homes. Must be the talkative school teacher in her!

A few highlights of my little look around...

Mmmm...I love Little Mary Moo's Place. Beautifully made coin purses, bags and other lovelies.

 
Twinkle Star Art has beautiful digital artworks, personalised artworks, cards, pocket mirrors, pendants...

Ooops...I spot a matroyshka or two.

Edward and Lilly hand embroidered brooches. I have a new thing for sausage dogs.

 
EmBellish were selling an array of goodies. From owls to onesies to cookie ingredients to pincushions...so many lovelies to choose from...

Now I know who has been buying all the supplies of polyfill at Spotlight. There must be at least half a kilo of polyfill in these cutie owls!

I managed to purchase a little onesie for a dear little boy recently born to good friends of mine. I should have bought a few more for a certain little Maisie...

I am a big fan of Beckybean handmade recycled/upcycled bags.

 
I have been coveting a certain Fairy Penguin bag on Bec and Jade's blogs.

Little sis Ju Ju was seen leaving the BIDM with a Beckybean carry bag. I wonder if I will get a surprise under the Christmas tree???

Time to catch up - BrisStyle Indie Designer Markets

I feel like I have been asleep since I attended the BrisStyle Markets on 4 July. This head cold has certainly knocked me around.

Let me catch you up with my involvement at the BrisStyle Indie Designer Markets which were held on a beautiful Winter's day, two Saturdays ago.

 

Some old and new friends at my market stall.

 

The Kokeeshi girls made their first venture out for some market testing.

 

The day was so busy.

 

Millie and Molly went to new homes. But, Mandy is for sale in my Etsy shop.

 

We met so many lovely people and had nice chats.

 

Lots of Maisies found new homes.

 

Lots of custom orders to fill.

 

Which means, lots of new fabric to buy! Who needs an excuse to buy fabric?

 

I use every last inch of my fabric. The scraps make these sweet pin cushions.

  

Mmmm, mini cupcakes to keep the sugar levels up.

 

I was even interviewed by Rave Magazine. Me, in Rave? I am not that cool. My sisters were surprised that their nerdy sister ended up amongst the pages of pill poppers and head bangers!
