Mini Moopy meets Maisie

I have put the finishing touches on some little softies for the BrisStyle - Toy Society mega toy drop.

I made these Mini Moopys from the pattern by the very talented Carly Schwerdt of Nest Studio. Carly is very well known within the softie world as an author and regular contributor to many softie books. This sweet  softie bunny is 'royalty' among softie blog land. You can purchase the pattern to make your own Mini Moopy here.

 
I hope that these Moopys find nice homes.

Watch out Brisbane, I will be dropping toys this weekend : )

Well, it is about time Miss Maisie that you drew the winner of the custom made Kokeshi doll giveaway.

My daughter's Chinese name is Mei-Lin... but I think that may be too close to Mei-Ling, which you already have, so I'll vote for Lin-Lin (pronounced Lane Lane) - her nickname.

Now, all that is left for Casey to do is choose the type of Kokeshi to come and live in the USA with her.

Giveaway - Miss Kokeshi needs a name!

I need some new names. I have been so busy making Kokeshi and Mei-Ling inspired Maisie dolls that I am struggling to find new names.

So, it is time for a giveaway.

You will be in the running for your very own custom made Kokeshi doll. You get to pick the dress colour scheme and hair style. I will then make your doll to your specifications, wrap her up and post her anywhere in the world.

Simply leave a comment with a sweet Asian name suitable for my Kokeshi dolls, before Sunday 16 August 2009. I will randomly draw a winner soon after this date.

It is time for the Christmas Maisie doll to go to her new home. After all the comments were carefully assessed, it was time for the draw.

Christmas Maisie herself, made sure that all of the entries were thoroughly mixed.

 

Then all of her Maisie friends gathered around to make sure everything was official. 

 

One name was drawn out of the box of 87 entries.

 

 

Juliana suggested that Christmas Maisie be named Meemee, and that Meemee should go and live in Dubai ! Congratulations Juliana. Please email me your snail mail address, and little Christmas Maisie will be on her way to you.

Give away . . . Christmas Maisie doll needs a new home and a name

To celebrate Christmas and the festive season, I am giving away a Maisie doll. This little Maisie doll however, needs a name. That is where you come in. Simply leave a comment before Wednesday 3 December 2008 suggesting a name for this little Maisie. I will draw a winner from random on Thursday 4 December 2008. Entry is open to all - no matter where you live. Please only enter once.

 

This Christmas Maisie doll is dressed in festive coloured fabric from the Aunt Grace Christmas 2008 range. She stands approx 12" high. She does have a small button and ribbon attached which may not be suitable for small children. She is stuffed with polyfill and has wool felt hair. All my Maisie dolls are orignals, designed and made by me. My house is smoke and pet free. Well, there are two drooly boxer dogs that live strictly outside, in my yard.

BrisStyle Christmas catch up

Today I finally got to meet many of the talented ladies who are members of BrisStyle. We met at a very busy suburban shopping centre coffee shop to catch up, seek advice, draw the winner of the BrisStyle giveaway and to do our Secret Santa gift giving.

Winners of the BrisStyle giveaway will be posted on the BrisStyle blog soon.

I had lovely chats with Em and Bel, Teneale, Helen and  Therese. There were so many ladies that I hope to have more chats with at our 13 December BrisStyle markets at Hamilton Hall.

The common thread amongst us is that we all have Etsy stores, we all live in or around Brisbane and we all promote hand made.

 

This is the cute softie angel which Bel from EmBelISH gave me as part of the BrisStyle secret santa swap for 2008.

   

Thank you Bel for your lovely angel. She will be amongst friends in my sewing room.

Also, Bel gave me the cutest headband featuring little matryoshka dolls. How did she know that I love matryoshka dolls?

Oooh! Too many goodies in one day for me. Now, back to Maisie doll making for the upcoming markets.
